Sync meetings offer many features to the presenter during a Sync meeting. One of the features is to share their screen with the members of the group.
In order to share your screen within the Sync meeting you will need to have Java downloaded. If you do not have java downloaded please click here.
After you have downloaded Java, you will be able to share your screen. Below are the steps to share your screen.
Please note that Google Chrome does not allow Java to run. Please use Mozilla Firefox. If you wish to download Firefox please click here.
Start by logging into the meeting. When you’re in the meeting, you will need to be the presenter. If you are not the meeting moderator, you will need to ask them to give you the presenter role.
Once you are the presenter, you will see a button in the top left hand corner of the screen with an image of a screen on it. This is the Screen Share button.
When this button is clicked, a message box will appear at the bottom of the screen. This message box will give steps to allow you to share your screen. When you see this screen, you will need to select whether you want to share your full screen or just a region of it.
Give Java permission to run on your computer. This can be seen at the top of the screen. You will see a plugin icon appear in your address bar. Typically it will be flashing red, unless you have allowed Java before.
When you click the plugin you will want to either select Allow Now or Allow and Remember. If you will be using screen share in the future, we recommend that you select Allow and Remember.
After a few moments you will see a Deskshare Applet appear. You will need to click Run to allow Java. Your screen will immediately be shared and visible to members of your group. You are able to minimize the Desktop Sharing screen in the bottom left corner of the Sync Meeting.
When you wish to end the screen sharing you can close the Desktop Sharing screen or click the screen sharing button at the top of the screen.
